The newer Rotax 91X engines have changed, and Rotax no longer uses bullet terminals for the magneto P leads ("kill wires").
Unfortunately the modification doesn't clearly appear in the Installation or Maintenance manuals...
In older engines, Rotax used a bullet style crimp terminal to connect each magneto to the keyswitch.
No more bullet terminals, but a six-pin connector for each mag.
The empty housing is where the wire from the keyswitch is to be inserted.
Each Rotax ignition module has two similar connectors.
To avoid mistakes : the magneto "kill wire" terminal must be inserted into the connector with one red wire, two blue/yellow and two white/yellow wires.
Rotax supplies a small hardware package including starter contactor nuts, washers and nylon cover, clear plastic connector and crimp terminals for the tachometer connection.
The Faston terminal is for the starter motor relay command wire.
In the center of the picture, the small silver crimp terminals and black round plastic grommets for the magneto wires.
Do not forget to put the grommet on the wire before crimping the terminal !
Here is an example of how the keyswitch and magnetos may be wired on a Rotax 912 S.
