The Rotax 914 spark plugs

Rotax specifies Denso X27EPR-U9 spark plugs for its turbo supercharged 914 engine.
Here is how to interpret the Denso references.

Interpretation

Specifications

The Denso X27EPR-U9 spark plugs have an M12 thread with 19 mm reach (with gasket), and a 1.5 mm projected U-cut ground electrode. These plugs are resistive, the hexagon size is 18 mm, and the Denso heat range is 27. Nominal gap is 0.9 mm.

Gapping before installing

Rotax specifies a 0.60-0.70 mm gap. The gap must therefore be checked and ajusted before installing new plugs !
